Our Story: kHAO sOI eATERY
After three wonderful years serving Wellington through Yor Yak Thai Eatery, we were proud to bring our passion for Thai cuisine to life with Khao Soi Welly Eatery in 2025. Inspired by the vibrant flavours of Northern Thailand, Khao Soi was created to introduce Wellington to one of Thailand’s most beloved dishes.
Khao Soi has always been the heart of our concept. From the beginning, our intention was to introduce Wellington to this iconic Northern Thai dish and share the authentic flavours we grew up with. through carefully crafted recipes and traditional techniques, we aim to bring the real taste of Khao Soi to our community, offering a genuine experience of Northern Thai comfort food.
As our community grew, so did our vision. Today, Khao Soi continues its journey beyond Wellington with the opening of our Auckland location in Remuera, allowing us to share the flavours of Northern Thailand with even more diners across New Zealand.
What is kHAO sOI?
Khao Soi is a signature dish from Northern Thailand, known for its rich balance of flavours and textures. It features a fragrant curry broth served with soft egg noodles or rice noodles and tender slow-cooked meat, most commonly chicken or beef. Crispy fried noodles are added on top for texture, and the bowl is served with pickled mustard greens, fresh lime, and sliced shallots.
What we offer?
At Khao Soi, our menu focuses on the bold and vibrant flavours of Northern Thai street food. Our signature Khao Soi sits at the centre of the menu, prepared with a balanced blend of spice, richness, and freshness.
Alongside our noodle bowls, we offer a selection of small bites such as our popular herbal grilled chicken and Sai Oua, a Northern Thai sausage. Guests can also enjoy Thai-inspired bingsu and colourful drinks for a light and refreshing finish to the meal.
